    G'day Mates

We have a dispute in our Local Govt Area about the requirement to request kerb & gutter (channel for you Queenslanders) & shoulder road pavement for dual occupancies in unkerbed streets with only narrow central pavements.

Would you please advise if it is a requirement (or merits based assessment) of your Council to request kerb & gutter & road pavement to the frontage of dual occupancy developments.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Adam,

Byron's development controls do not specify any requirement for kerb and gutter and shoulder pavement for dual occupancies in unkerbed streets and as such it is generally not conditioned unless there are drainage issues, safety concerns or other merits for it.

If I understand correctly, we may require half the road to be upgraded (with K & C) also depending upon the surrounding environment.
