TRC currently uses Rapidplan by Invarion.com to produce traffic managment plans.

I am chasing an alternate software/supplier information.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards.

    Gary,

I've been using Rapidplan for a number of years to produce the Traffic Control Plans that form part of our overall Traffic Management Plans and haven't found a need to use/source an alternate package. I also note that the various consultants we use also use Rapidplan. While it doesn't have the sort of automation you'd like ie it doesn't tell you what signs to use or where to put them, as an overall "graphics" package to present a TCP I'm not aware of any better

When I require one I simply use Power Point.  You can import screen dumps from most GIS systems and scan the signs individually and simply import and rotate as necessary.  PP also allows rotation of text to any angle and export as a PDF.  Lines can also be created to scale.

Why are you looking for an alternative? We're thinking of buying Rapidplan.
