Has anybody used the NSW SEPP (Infrastructure) 2007 effectively to install recreational assets in Council Parks & Reserves?  Would anybody recomend a training course or similar that allows a better understanding of how the SEPP works and what you can and can't do?

    Martin, all,

We (at Warringah Council) use SEPP - State Environmental Planning Policy (Infrastructure) 2007 extensively (basically all the time) for Parks/Reserves infrastructure development. Sections 64, 65, 66 are relevant.
Following SEPP removes the requirement to do Development Applications (internally).
It streamlines the process while providing good guidelines for infrastructure development.
We do not use SEPP for Sportsfield lighting and continue to use the DA process to ensure an even more rigorous appraoch including the detailed Community Consultation associated with a lighting project.

If you need more information, perhaps contact me directly via email through this site.

    Regards

    Hi Martin,

We frequently use that SEPP here at Tweed.  Sorry though, don't know of a training course, we just sorted it internally with our planners
