    Hello All

Have you looked into online prestarts? Plant Assessor offers a great product that is time lined and the information goes back to your asset, this saves a lot of manual work and is simple to use.

Griffith City Council use the Pre Start Plus App available through Plant Assessor.  Most staff members have an ipad or phone allocated to them to complete the pre starts.  The pre start app is specific to each different plant type therefore is asks the right questions for the type of plant being checked.

    Hi John

We run all our major assets through the 'Plant Assessor' platform for pre-start checks and risk assessments. www.assessor.com.au
We signed up with them for risk assessments and the electronic pre-start function was a free add on.
It was a bit of work at the start getting all outdoor staff to download the app on their mobile device however it is a tax deductable if they use their personal device which pushed the uptake considerbly.

    Hi John

Plant Assessor offers free machine specific digital pre-start checks for more than 110,000 makes and models of plant & equipment for free.

Unlimited machines, unlimited users, and includes free iOS and Android apps.

As council already uses Plant Assessor there is an account set up with your machines in it that you can go and have a play with.

I understand Megan has spoken to you yesterday to walk you through it.

To other readers, if you don't have a Plant Assessor account it is easy to set up a free account, just go to www.assessor.com.au and click on GET STARTED.

    Kind Regards

    Hi John,

IntelliTrac has an integrated pre start check list module as part of its GPS Tracking offering.
Questions and workflows can be customised for each individual piece of fleet and plant from the back end and automatically deployed on mobile devices such as phones, tablets and fixed in cabin devices.

The same IntelliTrac app can also provide FBT electronic logbooks, Fatigue Management and Mass Management by self declaration or integration into vehicle scales.

Pre starts are conducted by first logging into the app and then scanning a QR code on the fleet/Plant/Asset.

Alternatively the App can provide a single sign on by detecting the swipe of an RFID reader in the vehicle, thus not requiring a username and password to log into the app.

More information is available on the IntelliTrac website at https://intellitrac.com.au

    Hi All

Thought I would add again to the original post as I see some other recommendations for electronic pre-starts appearing.
I would say beware of 'build your own intelligence' systems for electronic pre-starts as you will have to remember to update when new/updated standards/legislation become available. Also every time a new model is added to your fleet you will be designing a specific pre-start around the asset.
Systems such as Plant assessor update all the time and communicate these updates to you. They are connected to and are working with the OEM's,  so models, types, series of asset is automatically uploaded for end user convenience.
