Asset Maintenance Management System that intergrates with ArcGIS

    Good Morning,

I am currently working with 6 regional Qld Local Governments to assist in setting up a practical cost effective integrated Asset Management GIS Centric system.  As part of my research I am searching for a smart practical Asset Maintenance Management System that is integrated to ArcGIS and can utilise the asset data collected through the ArcGIS collection apps for the programming of works. If anybody in the Asset Management Community has had a positive experience with a Asset Maintenance Management system that is connected to ArcGIS and is practical and not resource hungry and would be ideal for smaller local authorities it would be great to hear from you.

    Cheers
    Steve

    HI Stephen

We use AssetFinda which has a GIS interface which we can load assets into the database spatial.  While we use QGIS or MapInfo not ArcGIS I understand there are a number of people who do use this program with Arc.  I found idea for a small councils.

    Hope this helps

    Hi

I was the program manager for an asset condition and maintenance program for a large utility company in QLD and we used an Innovyze product. It was integrated directly into a GIS system and we were able to live update the asset information and have field data entered directly to the asset.

Very good product and I am sure the product can easily be expanded to other Council assets. We were able to start and maintain a historical record of each asset, it's current condition, renewal and expected asset life.

I highly recommend contacting Innovyze. It took a little bit of time to manipulate and have the system running but once we were up and going (within 6 months) the data we collected was "gold". Don't forget though it is great to have all this asset data, the real aim of collecting asset data is to anticipate and have proactive maintenance and renewable schedules rather than reactive maintenance / renewable / replacement schedules. Ultimately, determining root causes and saving money and time.

Since the introduction of GIS mapping and modelling systems, I have been trying to encourage utilities and council to implement a system to better manage a system/asset by root causes and proactive maintenance schedules.
