Criticality Profiles

    Hi all,

    The National Asset Management Assessment Framework suggests that amongst other things that a 'Core' Asset Management Plan should include "criticality profiles", but I can find neither a definition of the term nor any examples of an Asset Management Plan containing a criticality profile.

    Has anyone created Criticality Profiles for their assets that would they be willing to share?

    Regards,

    Asset Management is primarily about focusing on/managing (first and foremeost) critical assets (but don't ignore the rest!).

    I assume the "criticality profile" refers to profiling your critical assets by asset class, then consolidating across all assets.

    Most core AMPs, say developed in NSW - following the NAMS Plus template - do not include detailed criticality profiling.
    Certainly it should be thought about at this stage, but the real profiling occurs later (possibly at the advanced AMP stage).

    Criticality profiles are very much dependent on who you are and where you are and to what extent you have ignored your assets (particular categories within classes) in the past.

    I have critical assets identified/profiles (now) in;
    Parks and Reserves AMP - playgrounds and wharves (based on detailed risk analysis)
    Transport (Roads) AMP - Collector (highest traffic) roads in poort o very poor condition, footpaths in specific locations etc

    There are critical asset in all categories, in all classes but some do not need the profiling that others do?

    Hope this helps.
