    Morning all,

You may remember a conversation had about our attempts or ambition to capture and present some of the works we do via modern means.

This forum is a terrific example of what can be achieved using the tools available to us. What I hope will be another good example is this video I produced of a recent resurfacing project in town.

I'd be very interested to hear any feedback from the group:

    Hi Will,

I think the video is great! I think it will assist communities to understand more about their LG's works programs and similar projects.

One comment I would have is whether is would be useful to have some sub-text as to what is actually happening as the video progresses? The different stages of the re-surfacing, fun facts about the project (i.e. how much material was used) or the different roles people have in the project, maybe?

Also, how have you distributed this to your community? Does Junee have a facebook page or was it through the Shire website?

    Cheers

    Hi Kim,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Your idea of having some info about the various stages is a good one. I'd have to be careful about not making it tacky but certainly aspects of the project like total cost would open a lot of eyes.

We sort of have a Facebook account and Twitter feed. Both were set up as part of our consultation strategy for our special rates variation (ie we sought to increase rates above the pegging limit) but they need a bit more work to appeal to the younger market that frequent those two SM platforms. Otherwise it's gone out on our email list to all staff and councilors and we'll show it at our monthly meeting down at the depot.

    Cheers,
