  • 1.  TGSI Policy/Design Standards

    Hello All,

    QPRC are considering the requirements for a dedicated TGSI (Tactile Ground Surface Indicator) Policy or Design Standards that can be implemented.

    We are interested to hear from other Council's  in if and how they have implemented any policies/standards for TGSI, issues around planning retrofitting of existing sites, etc.

    Any information will greatly assist in developing how implement TGSI planning in the future.

    Hi Andrew,

    We require TGSs on all new pram ramps and bus stops to meet our obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act.

    Some very good guidance in RTS14 Guidelines for facilities for blind and vision impaired pedestrians (link below) which is used in New Zealand.
