We are in process of creating policy for our organization (Water/WW entity). I have City of Portland, Oregon AM Statement,The City of Charleston, South Carolina AM Policy and guidelines as sample to share with top management. I was wondering if anyone willing to share the example for the AM policy to pass it on to top management to get their buy-in, having as formal AM policy rather then policy statement.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Catrin Johnson, Brianna Aris and Amar singh appreciate your help. It really helped. Did you all go through series of workshop or questions list or AM committee discussion  to prepare the AM policy?  If so, would you please share the steps or detail information if possible.

    Thank you

Not sure if it addresses your question; however, in the US there is a regulation for all State DOTs to develop Asset Management Plans.  The regulation is 23 CFR 515.

    Hi Tejal,

Here at the City of Ottawa, we developed the attached Asset Management Policy for all our assets that was approved in 2012, including water and wastewater assets. We used it as a roadmap to develop our overall asset management strategy and plan, which was last updated in 2017. We now need to refine for each asset class to be ready by 2021 for for compliance with O.Reg. 588/17 from our Provincial Government. I hope you find this useful.
