    Hi all,

Could I ask for the best devices you have found on opening of drainage lids.  Here in Bunbury WA we like the rest of us we all different types of lids ranging from Gatic style, concrete circular with lifting points through to concrete solid square type with no lifting points then the steel grated lids.

I'm looking into devices like the below as our vehicle doesn't have a crane or simular attached to it
    • The Great-Lifta by Catch-it for grated lids
    • Unilid Lifter by Cadia

If you could assist us with any information or best way you have found to open your drainage lids would be appreciated, to prevent any possible back injury

Mate we ended up looking at a couple of different options but in the end went with a small crane for the back of our utes instead.
We chose the 'Lindsell Hoist' which cost us around $9k.
Very good device and lifts quite heavy lids, not just those that are difficult to open with handheld gear.

    Hi

I have found the Xtirpa Ratchet Manhole cover lifter to be a good all round lifting device.

At the City of Kalamunda, we use Salvus Hybrid Lid Lifter from Allied Safety in NSW.

We had a variety of keys made to our specifications to suit most of our lid types and an extension to the handle to suit the height of inspectors.

    Cheers,
