    Hi All

2018 will see the introduction of new Chain of Responsibility laws. The new laws impose a primary duty on heavy vehicle operators to eliminate or minimise potential harm by taking all reasonably practicable steps to ensure safety.

CoR covers a range of areas related to running a fleet including, but not limited to; mass, loading, fatigue and vehicle standards including maintenance.

From a Fleet Management perspective, CoR can have a range of implications such as; ensuring appropriate tie down points on mobile plant, specifying equipment that is fit for purpose and applying effective maintenance management.

IPWEA FLEET is seeking to establish resources to assist our member community meet their obligations under CoR. Accordingly, we would very much appreciate hearing from anyone willing to share their experience and/or processes related to CoR compliance.

Please feel free to respond on Ask Your Mates or contact me directly.

For further information on Heavy Vehicle National Law and CoR refer to the NHVR website
