Introduction to Asset Management - What it means for the person at the coal face
Why Does Asset Management matter for staff at the coal face?

Asset Management (AM) can deliver to councils many benefits like: more transparent management of the assets, greater accountability, a more satisfied community and lower costs.
The knowledge of the assets that can be provided by works officers and other frontline staff is critical to the success of AM.
Practical day to day local asset management knowledge can inform council’s policy. Plus the development of AM Plans can deliver benefits because the role that you play in managing the assets day to day is documented and formally recognised by your council. Asset Management gives engineering managers the ammunition they need to successfully lobby the Council for increased funding for assets (and the staff responsible for them). This course refers to real case studies at councils where AM has lead to real improvements.

INVITATION TO ATTEND
This course would be best suited to Works Officers and technical and operational staff.  To keep the interest of the audience during the training course, it is proposed that the course involve only the minimum of “dry” AM theory, but instead focus on case studies and involve a variety of practical activities during the day.

Participants are asked to submit a case study that they would like to discuss – good, bad, ugly or that they just can’t understand !
