SPECIAL SCHEDULE 7 -  Report on Infrastructure Assets - A Joint workshop by Office of Local Government & IPWEA
The Special Schedule 7 workshop will be a joint presentation by Office of Local Government and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA). Sonja Hammond from Office of Local Government will present the findings of the Infrastructure Audit Report, current reporting requirements (Special Schedule 7) and developing the future of Local Government Infrastructure Reporting and Tony Reed from IPWEA will present the case study on Community Consultation on determining satisfactory condition of the asset class, which links to the backlog value.

PRESENTERS

SONJA HAMMOND (Office of Local Government)
Sonja Hammond is a Principal Performance Analyst with the Office of Local Government. Her expertise is with analysing the financial performance of councils and also financial reporting. Sonja is also heavily involved with asset management reporting and was the Project Manager of the Local Government Infrastructure Audit that was released by the Office of Local Government in June 2013. In her time with the Office of Local Government Sonja has spent time with many councils gaining a deep understanding of issues experienced in Local Government and is passionate about integrating asset and financial management.

TONY REED (IPWEA)
Tony is a highly qualified public sector engineer and senior manager with extensive experience in Local Government in both Metropolitan and Regional NSW Tony has also held senior positions in State Government and State Utilities. During his career Tony has been responsible for the design, construction and operation of some significant infrastructure projects. The projects have been as diverse as the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre, the Bronte to Clovelly Coastal Walk, the Bulahdelah Water Filtration Plant and the West Ryde Drainage Tunnel. Tony has also been involved with and led major workplace reform directed at productivity and efficiency gains. In his various role in Local Government, Tony has been actively involved in promoting strategic alliances amongst member Councils and has successfully led the NSROC Regional Waste Disposal Contracts and the SSROC AWT Contract. Tony is also a member of the Management Committee of the NSW Roads and Transport Directorate.
