IPWEA (NSW) Professional Development Workshop: Postponed to 23 & 24 October

The objective of this course is to explain the purpose and procedures followed in Road Safety Audits.

The workshop works through the AustRoads Guidelines and discusses case studies of Audits already undertaken. A day audit of a selected local project is performed by delegates.

The Guidelines provide practitioners and decision makers with ways to formally address road safety issues before accidents occur. They are based on the latest information available and incorporate the combined experience of State road authorities throughout Australia, local government and Transit National.

The following are position titles that will find this course of interest; Design Engineers, Construction Engineers, NSW Police, Maintenance Engineers, Consultants, RMS personnel, Road Safety Officers and any local government engineers and practitioners involved in the design, construction and maintenance of roads

Your Presenter is Damien Chee of DC Traffic Engineering and is involved in all aspects of road development including route development and assessment, road design, traffic engineering and road safety.

Previously he held the position of Road Safety Audit and Crash Investigation Manager at RMS where he developed policies and procedures in road safety and road design areas as well as developing and delivering training courses in road design and road safety engineering.

RSA REFRESHER & REGISTRATION RENEWAL COURSE TIMES: Day 1 of the two day workshop acts as the Road Safety Audit Refresher & Registration Renewal Course. Registration renewal requires the successful completion of a recognised road safety audit refresher program every two years.
