IPWEA’s NAMS.PLUS face-to-face training is back , providing participants with the tools they need to achieve their organisation’s asset management goals.

The three-day training will be held in capital cities around Australia, with the first session kicking off in Brisbane on 6 June. More than 1000 professionals have attended the training during the past eight years.

The training gives participants practical experience using the online NAM.PLUS tools and templates, enabling them to write and update their organisation's asset management plan and strategy in line with strategic objectives.

Trainers Allen Mapstone and Steve Verity say although the content of the face-to-face training mirrors that of the Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning, the informal delivery method means participants can drill down into the concepts directly with the facilitators.

Mapstone says many participants who have already completed the Professional Certificate benefit from exploring issues in more detail during the face-to-face training.

“The Professional Certificate gives you the basic skills to use NAMS.PLUS, and if you follow that up with the face-to-face training, you can explore different ways of using NAMS.PLUS,” he explains.

Additionally, issues discussed in the face-to-face training can be localised, unlike in the Professional Certificate.

“With face-to-face training, it tends to be more localised, and we can explore their issues at a state level. For example, in face-to-face, we can deal with the South Australian context if we’re in Adelaide,” Verity says.
